So Long, Pikachu

I recently uninstalled Pokemon Go, a game I've played since launch. I even bought that fancy little device that spins stops and catches Pokemon for you, so I could be more involved with my surroundings (lol). As you may have guessed, it didn't help much. I'd still find myself glued to my phone, while out at the mall or park with my girlfriend.

Aside from that, the game just stopped being fun at some point. I found myself playing more out of habit than enjoyment. I play an idle game that demands less focus, which I honestly prefer for some daily games. Like Pokemon Go, it can be played on a mobile app. I still get distracted sometimes when I out and about, but far less than PoGo.

My girlfriend hasn't been playing as much either, instead preferring their Minecraft server or the main Pokemon games. So without that shared connection, it's been harder and harder for me to stay motivated. I haven't deleted my account, so I can always return later. But...I don't know. I liked Pokemon more as a child, and can't name half of the 'mon from the later gens.

It is nice not having to monitor the app so much. It's been days now, and I kinda forgot about it. I've been shifting that regained time more into reading or other games. The biggest thing will be focusing more on nature when I'm walking, and not being delayed by the need to take over gyms or catch random Pokemon.

This will also help when I eventually buy a phone that might not support the game. But that won't come for awhile now.

I'll chime back if I get hit with withdrawal, but that's highly unlikely.
